It was the day to pack our bags to head out to Devils Tower. Jenina + Robert left at 8AM and drove to Sturgis Coffee Company for that much needed caffeine dose after a long, tiring day yesterday and the lack of sleep from doing laundry late night.
It was a cloudy morning with the sun slowly breaking in between the clouds. It wouldn’t be a very hot hike in the Devils Tower. A short drive and we reached Sturgis.
The Sturgis Coffee Shop was more of a mercantile shop; selling shirts, books, and trinkets to name a few.
Quickly stopped at the Full Throttle Saloon.
Wyoming Tourism issued a sticker collection that can be picked up at visitor information centers. We stopped off at the closest one upon reaching Wyoming and Jenina was just so ecstatic
Reached the Devils Tower at 11:44PM.
We stopped on the side of the road just as we were exiting to look at prairie dogs.
Picked up some more shot glass and penny souvenirs and left Devils Tower at 2:06PM.
Heading to Sheridan and the rain started to come down.
Stopped at the Gilette Visitor Centre to pick up more stickers and then had a light snack just to keep us going until we reach Sheridan, which was about 160km away.
Doing 80miles/hr. made it challenging to take pictures of what we saw on the way.
Stop at the viewpoint
We got to Sheridan at around 5:30PM and headed to another visitor center for more stickers.
