After a good night’s rest and a rush to get the day started, we found ourselves at the B&B breakfast enjoying a feast fit for a king! John, the owner/operator started us with coffee and torched grapefruit. The caramelized topping was like a crème brule but better! It was large enough to be a meal by itself. But then he brought out our main dish –  Kielbasa sausage, a lemon cream cheese crepe / thin pancakes, and another serving of fresh fruits. It was a hearty meal to get us thru the day.

We decided to venture out early and visit some of the local vineyards in Peshastin, a neighboring town. Peshastin is full of vineyards and orchards. The town itself lacks any real character, but the beautiful houses make up for it.

Our first stop was at the Wedge Mountain Winery. The signs leading in were a little confusing. Jenina and I were both a little confused by one sign that had a left turn arrown with a caption that read “at the end of the road”. We were debating whether it meant to take the immediate left and go to the end, or turn left at the end of the road. We went with the first, and turned left and followed the dirt road into the winery.

The wine was subtle and the owners were very welcoming. We were lucky arriving without little to no one at the tasting room. We took some photos, and moved along.

Our 2nd stop brought us to Icicle Ridge Winery & Vineyard also located in the Peshastin Valley. A nice pond out in front of a log cabin welcomes guests to the property.

We didn’t taste any wine, as we had already tasted the wines in Leavenworth.

We realized time was ticking away, so we made our way back to the B&B to drop off the motorcycle. It was just shortly after noon, and we were told the parade starts at noon, so we started our walk into town. We arrived shortly after the parade, but made it in time for some dancing and the finale dance being the Maipole dance.

Standing sure does make you thirsty! So, we headed into the Elevage wine company for a few more samples. We fell in love with the Voodoo Pink. A nice blend of white and red.

Hunger set in and the smell of food from the festival led us to Sulla Vita. A tapas style place serving up wood fire oven creations. Service was a little slow, and some of the other customers were making that obvious. Our food arrived and fulfilled our hunger needs.

In order to help burn off some of those calories, we walked along a trail leading onto Blackbird Island. A small island that is mostly plants, birds, and rehabilitation zones. By the time we wrapped back around to the town, we were beat! No energy left to walk. Sitting at Starbucks trying to recuperate.

The Starbucks from the inside looks like any normal Starbucks, but from the outside, follows the German village theme. An old antiquated sign in green with white letters spelling the Starbucks name. Very unique given their normal signs.

We must have got heat stroke the day before or the wine really didn’t sit well with us…either way, we returned back to our B&B and skipped our dinner plans. I think this means we’ll have to make a trip back. We’ve got some more ideas for Sunday, but it’s weather pending as the rain has started. Maybe Wenatchee Lake, the 59’er diner, or the Alps Candy Store. Hopefully we feel better tomorrow! Wish us luck!
